Mangaluru: Fire breaks out in moving container near Mulki, quickly doused

Mangaluru, Dec 1: Tension prevailed for a brief period on Sunday morning when a container caught fire while moving along the national highway near Mulki.

The fire was noticed on the container as it was crossing the bridge near the renowned Bappanadu Temple. The driver of the container truck managed to exit the vehicle in time. Locals immediately rushed to the scene and, with the help of Hejmady toll gate personnel, took swift action to control the fire. Fire service personnel later arrived and brought the situation fully under control.

The container, which was owned by Bhavani Shipping Service Private Limited of Mangaluru, had its fire extinguished before it could cause major damage. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
