Mangaluru, Dec 1: A heated altercation between a KSRTC bus driver and a scooter rider escalated dramatically when the latter smashed the bus's windshield with a helmet and fled. The incident occurred around 7:30 pm near Alape in the jurisdiction of the Kankanady police station.

The KSRTC bus, driven by Arun, was en route from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, carrying passengers. The scooter rider reportedly blocked the bus's path, prompting the driver to question his actions. This led to the scooter rider stopping the bus, breaking its front windshield with a helmet, and fleeing the scene.

Kankanady police promptly arrived at the location, assessed the situation, and arranged alternative transportation for the stranded passengers.

Based on the complaint lodged by bus driver Arun, a case has been registered for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of duty and causing damage to public property.

Police have identified the accused and are conducting a search operation. The investigation is ongoing.
