Udupi, Dec 3: The pre-paryaya Bale Muhoortha of Shiroor Math will be held at 7 am in the presence of Vedavardhana Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math, on December 6.

Dr Uday Kumar Saralattaya, Diwan of Shiroor math, addressing media in the press conference held on December 2 said, “Swamiji who will be ascending the Paryay peetha will be performing several rituals beforehand. Among them, the Bale Muhurta is scheduled to precede the Paraya rituals that begin on January 18, 2026. On December 6, at 5.30 am, special prayers will be offered to Lord Vitthala at the Math, followed by prayers to Lord Krishna, Anantheshwara, and Chandramouleshwara. Subsequently, a procession through Carstreet will lead to the designated site near Poornaprajna College, where banana saplings will be planted.”

Dr Uday, stated, “The procession will feature cultural displays, Vedic chants, and various musical performances. Devotees will also be given banana saplings to plant. The Math will take responsibility for the saplings' care. Around 1,000 saplings will be planted near the PPC area, while approximately 14,000 saplings will be planted at the Shiruru main Math. These saplings will be used to prepare offerings for the deity during the Paraya rituals, highlighting their sacred significance.”

Since this Paraya is dedicated to Pranadeva, various religious programs will be held at the Shiroor main Math, including the Ramataraka Yajna, Manyusukta Homa, and Vayusukta Homa. Swamiji has recently completed his pilgrimage to North India and Nepal and is currently in Andhra Pradesh. He will return to Udupi via Bengaluru.

MLA Yashpal A Suvarna urged everyone to participate in Shiroor Math's first pre-Paraya ritual, the Bale Muhurta.

Dignitaries present included Srikanth Nayak, Mohan Bhat, Sreesh Bhat Kadekar, Govinda Acharya, and Vasudeva Acharya.
