Mangaluru, Dec 3: The NSS association of St Aloysius Pre-University College successfully organized a health and fire safety workshop. This workshop aimed at equipping NSS volunteers and students with essential safety knowledge and practical skills, fostering a culture of awareness and preparedness within the campus community.
The resource person for the session, Satyaraj, a distinguished fire and safety officer and OSHA cardholder, captivated the audience with his extensive expertise. The session began with an engaging introduction to basic life-saving techniques, including a practical demonstration of CPR and first aid procedures. Through hands-on activities, participants gained invaluable insights into managing health crises effectively, enhancing their confidence to act during emergencies.
The workshop progressed to the Gonzaga grounds, where an outdoor demonstration on fire safety took center stage. Satyaraj illustrated the correct usage of fire extinguishers and their critical role in combating fire hazards. Students enthusiastically participated in the activity, with many stepping forward to operate the extinguisher themselves. This interactive demonstration provided a realistic and empowering experience for the attendees.
The vibrant and interactive atmosphere of the workshop was further amplified by active student participation and insightful discussions. This initiative by the NSS Association not only enriched the participants with vital life-saving knowledge but also instilled a proactive attitude towards handling emergencies.
