BOSS Muscat members present exceptional Yakshagana ballet

Muscat, Dec 3: At the recent BOSS (Bunts of Oman Sanskrutika Sangha) event, the local Bunts community of Muscat delivered an exceptional Yakshagana ballet performance through the Bunts Oman Yakshagana Mandali. This performance was particularly noteworthy as many of the role players were first-time performers on stage. Despite this being their debut, the actors delivered an impressive and captivating performance, showcasing their dedication and passion for preserving and promoting the traditional art form. The enthusiasm and effort put into the production by these first-time performers were widely appreciated by the audience, making it a memorable and significant highlight of the event.

The BOSS event reached its grand finale with this breathtaking Yakshagana ballet titled ‘Bunta Beere Devu Poonje’, presented by the renowned Rajendra Shetty and his talented team.

The performance was nothing short of mesmerizing, with the BOSS members delivering a commendable show despite having undergone intense training in Muscat for just three months under the guidance of Rajendra M Shetty of RAK Computers. Their dedication and hard work were evident in every aspect of the performance, which truly captivated the audience.

The ballet showcased the rich cultural heritage of Tulunadu and was brought to life by a dynamic cast. The key performers included Poorvaranga by Bhuvika S Shetty, Likhitha H Shetty and lead players Pranavi V Shetty, Rajendra M Shetty, Ramanand M Shetty, Umesh S Shetty, Chandrahas K Shetty, Prema N Shetty, Vijay Shetty, Rajesh Shetty and Sudheer Shetty, Himmela-Vijay Kumar Shetty (Bhagavathike-PB) Hariprasad Shetty, Vishwas Shetty (maddale), Rajesh K Shetty (Chende), and Sachin Hegde (Chakratala). Their performances were meticulously coordinated, and each role was played with exceptional passion and precision, earning a thunderous applause from the audience.

Meanwhile an astonishing Naatyavaibhava by Radhika R Shetty, Deeksha V Shetty, Sushmitha V Shetty, Ramya V Shetty fascinated the audience.

The Rangstala for the ballet was skilfully crafted by Jayaraj Shetty M&T, Dinesh Shetty, Prasad Shetty, and Surendra Shetty, with support from Lulua Majan Al Arabia Trading along with the guidance of Shashidhar Shetty Mallar and Diwakar Shetty Mallar. The set was a visual masterpiece that enhanced the dramatic effect of the ballet. The event also received substantial support from various organizations and individuals, including Prabakar Shetty, Sudhir Shetty, Ramanand Shetty, Kings Kitchen Restaurant and RARA Kitchen Restaurant’s & staff, Deepthi Suresh of DDA Dance Academy MBD, Kishan Shetty, Guru Prasad of RAK Computers, Sathish Shetty Sohar, Veeraj P Shetty, Rohith Rai, Sathwik shetty Jithesh Shetty, Bharath Rai, Akshay Shetty & Praveen Shetty. The seamless coordination of the performance, from the choreography to the stage setup, was made possible by the collective efforts of these dedicated individuals and their generous contributions. whose assistance and participation further ensured the success of this spectacular cultural presentation.

The Yakshagana ballet was the highlight of the event, a true testament to the community's commitment to preserving and celebrating its cultural heritage, while also demonstrating the immense talent within the Bunts community in Oman.
