Mangaluru, Dec 4: The residence of Umesh, located near the Ballabagh-Bejai road, is on the verge of collapse due to heavy rains triggered by the Fengal cyclone. A portion of the storm drain to which the house is attached has collapsed, leaving the house's pillar exposed and the structure dangerously unstable.
Umesh, who resides in the house with his wife and two children, reported that the incident occurred on December 3. The damage has made it difficult for the family to enter the house, as the area near the entrance step has also collapsed.
The local corporator visited the site on December 4 and assured the family that immediate measures would be taken. For now, sandbags will be placed to prevent further collapse. However, no steps have been taken to relocate the family from the precarious structure.
