Hassan, Dec 5: The ongoing agitation by the opposition BJP is a “political drama” after the complete rout of BJP and JDS combine in the three assembly by-elections, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons at the Bhuvanahalli helipad in Hassan district, he termed the BJP agitation as nothing but a political stunt.

Siddaramaiah said the BJP had promised in the 2014 election manifesto that it will clear all encroachments of Wakf pro0eprties and hand them over to the minority community.

“The same BJP, under the chief ministership of Basavaraj Bommai had issued notices for eviction to all the ecroachers of Wakf properties. Can people believe such double-standards and political drama,” he asked.

On the High Court’s decision to postpone the hearing on the petition over the MUDA scam till January 25, the Chief Minister said he will consult the legal experts before making any comments.
