Mangalore, Dec 19: After the success of the first 'Lancy Musical Nite' in Dubai in May earlier this year, Lancy Noronoha, Belloor presented his second musical nite in Mangalore at Don Bosco Hall on December 18 evening.

Despite several events happening in Mangalore simultaneously in the run up to the Christmas day celebrations, a good number of people turned up for the show.

Roshan D'Silva, compere from Dubai took charge and presented the show with his usual wit, humour and verbal prowess.

Well-known singers Anita Samson, Dr Prashant Raj, Rony Crasta, Vivi Santos, Kenny from Mumbai, Shyna, Lenita along with main artistes of the event Lancy Noronha and Joseph Mathias, who has been the backbone of Lancy Nites in Dubai and Mangalore, delighted the audience with a number of peppy songs.

Jerry - Joseph duo was at its usual best, with hilarious jokes and comic performance keeping the audience in splits of laughter. Naach Sobhann troupe  presented dances that had the audience asking for more.

The first of the twin Lancy Nite shows presented at Don Bosco was much appreciated by the audience. Music was provided by Dubai's noted music director Ramiro from Goa and supported by Vijay Noronha a well-known name in music in Mangalore.

The show was organised by Alfred Bennis under the banner of Catholic Sabha Kelari. Bennis has been organising events every year during Christmas season in aid of various social causes.

Rosario Cathedral parish priest Fr Stany Goveas was the chief guest for the stage programme. Kelarai parish priest Fr Johan Vaz, Daijiworld editor-in-chief Walter Nandalike, MCC Bank chariman Melvyn D'Cunha, Mandd Sobhann co-ordinator Louis Pinto, Alban Menezes, Jossy Rodrigues  from Kelarai were the guests of honour. Alfred Bennis was also on the dais.

Ignatius Fernandes Kelarai compered the felicitation programme

Twin music albums by Lancy Noronha were released during the event. The musical album 'Moga Sagor' was released by Fr Stany Goveas and his devotional album 'Mory Mai' was released by Lancy's father

During the event, Joseph Mathias, entreprenuer from Dubai who encourages Konkani music and Konkani language events in the Gulf and Mangalore was honoured on behalf of Lancy Noronha for his support to his shows. Joseph Mathias who is a part of Lancy's musical troupe, rendered solo, duet and group songs.

Fr Goveas in his address congratulated Kelarai unit of Catholic Sabha for organising the event for a cause and wished good luck to Lancy Noronha and all other artistes. He conveyed his Christmas and New Year wishes to the audience.

Your child has nice voice and good presentation. Keep up the talent. Encourage the youth to love our mai bhas konkanni and be united as you said in the song we are only 2% but the contribution is too much to the society through education religious brothers and sister. Meaningful lyrics and tunes. Please distribute your song book like in Dubai.
