B Vijayaraghava Rao elected president of Kadiyali Sri Mahishamardini Temple management committee

Udupi, Dec 6: B Vijayaraghava Rao was sworn in as the president of the newly formed management committee of the Kadiyali Sri Mahishamardini Temple in a ceremony held on Friday, December 6.

The event took place in front of the temple deity, Shri Mahishamardini, where outgoing administrative officer Maruti Rao handed over the charge to the new president, with executive officer Savitha present.

Located in Shivalli village, the Kadiyali Sri Mahishamardini Temple is a category "A" institution under the Karnataka Department of Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments. Following a directive from the Karnataka State Religious Council, the temple now has a nine-member management committee to oversee its operations.

The committee includes prominent figures such as Sadashiva Domanna Shetty Santakatte, Raviraj Acharya Kunjibettu, Prashanth Sagri, Praveen Kumar, Sujatha, Sharada, Ramesh, and Muralikrishna Upadhyaya.

Congress leader Prasad Raj Kanchan ceremoniously seated Rao as the new president.

The committee also announced that the annual Mari Pooja ritual will be held on December 12, marking a key event in the temple's calendar.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Shashiraj Kundar, Prakash Karanth, and former municipal council members Lata Anand Sherigar, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor, K. Muralidhar Bhat, and Jagadeesh Dhanya, along with other local leaders.
