Beltangady, Dec 6: District-level Prathibha Karanji 2024 was magnificently hosted by Holy Redeemer English Medium School on Friday, December 6.
Prathibha Karanji, an event of culture and talents was organised by the school in collaboration with Dakshina Kannada zilla Panchayat, School Education Department and Block Education Office.
The guests were welcomed with the beats of traditional drums and dolls.
The programme began with a beautiful prayer dance by the students, followed by singing the state anthem.
Harish Poonja, MLA of Beltangady constituency lit the lamp and gave his good wishes.
Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado, secretary of Catholic board of Education, Mangaluru inaugurated the event and wished the best for the event in his speech. The inauguration was innovatively done using the modern technology of hologram spin display.
Correspondent Fr Walter D’Mello and Prathapa Simha Nayak, member of Karnataka Legislative Council, graced the occasion, gave a message on utilizing the facilities available by the government towards the students.
DDPI Subbaraya wholeheartedly welcomed the gathering. He was honoured for his selfless service in recent years, and for completing his service this month by getting retired.
Dakshina Kannada taluk BEOs, nodal officers, cluster resource persons and education coordinators were present.
Tarakesari, BEO of Beltangady taluk proposed a vote of thanks.
Ajith, physical education teacher of Gerukatte Govt School compered the event skilfully.
About 39 different events were conducted in high school and higher primary school categories, comprising about 600 participants from 7 taluks of the district.
School headmaster Fr Clifford Pinto, staff and PTA members in collaboration with the department officials planned out the event wonderfully with creative and innovative ideas filling the campus with a festive vibe.
In the concluding ceremony, the prize winners were honoured and overall championships were awarded.
Lakshminarayan, nodal officer of Prathibha Karanji gave the concluding remarks. He thanked and appreciated the hard work and dedication put forth by everyone in making this mega event a grand success.
