Mangaluru: Preetish Crimson D'Silva awarded PhD for research in Metallurgical Engineering

Mangaluru, Dec 7: Preetish Crimson D'Silva has been conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal. The recognition comes in acknowledgment of his research on "Thermomechanical Processing of Inconel 601 and SS 304." He completed all requirements for the degree in May 2024 under registration number 138033MT13F05R, with the official conferral on November 23.

D'Silva pursued his research under the guidance of Dr Subray R Hegde from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at NITK, Surathkal.

Son of Louis D'Silva and Lydia D'Silva, Preetish Crimson D'Silva is married to Evita Coelho, daughter of Edward and Juliana Coelho of Derebail. The family belongs to the Infant Mary parish, Bajjodi, and resides at Carmel View Apartment near Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte, Mangaluru.

D'Silva completed his schooling at Sacred Heart School, Kulshekar, and pursued higher studies at St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. He earned a BE in Mechanical Engineering from St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and an MTech in Process Metallurgy at NITK, Surathkal.

Currently, he is employed at GE Aerospace, Bengaluru.
