Gold, liquid nicotine confiscated at Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru, Dec 8: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport confiscated gold worth Rs 48.75 lac and liquid nicotine, used in e-cigarettes, worth Rs 1.41 lac which were being illegally transported from Dubai on December 1 and 2.

During routine checks, customs officials intercepted two passengers of Kasargod origin who had arrived on an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Mangaluru. Upon inspection, they discovered 625 grams of 24-carat purity gold concealed in egg-shaped envelopes hidden within the body. Additionally, the officials seized 147 refills of liquid nicotine valued at Rs 1.41 lac.

The seized items have been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.
