Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Dec 9: The Karnataka state police department, committed to eradicating the narcotics menace in the state, has developed a dedicated app, Drugs Free Karnataka, to gather information from the public about drug networks.

The app, now available on Google Playstore, encourages citizens to report activities related to drug cultivation, sales, consumption, synthetic drug manufacturing, storage, and transportation. The department has assured complete confidentiality for those providing information. Reports can be submitted in both English and Kannada.

Information collected through the app will be directed to local police, deputy commissioners of police (DCPs), superintendents of police (SPs), and other senior officials. Based on the inputs received, appropriate legal action will be initiated, according to police department sources.

The initiative aims to engage the public in the fight against drugs and make Karnataka a narcotics-free state.
