Mangaluru: Much-awaited Karavali Utsav to begin from Dec 21

Mangaluru, Dec 9: The much-awaited Karavali Utsav will commence on December 21.

The district administration made the announcement during a meeting chaired by deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan on Monday, December 8, at the DC office.

The Karavali Utsav will be inaugurated at the Karavali Utsava ground on December 21, where cultural events will be organized by various academies to promote the traditions, language, and rituals of the coastal belt.

On December 28 and 29, a two-day-long beach festival will be held at Thannirbhavi and Panambur beaches. On January 4 and 5, the Yuva Utsava will take place at Kadri Park to encourage youth participation, and food stalls will also be set up at the Karavali Utsava ground.

A river festival will also be held at Harekala. To ensure the success of the event, various committees have been formed.

During the meeting, Zilla Panchayath CEO Dr Anand K, DCP Siddarth Goyal, additional SP Rajendra, ADC Dr G Santhosh Kumar, and MUDA commissioner Noor Jahan were also present.
