Beltangady, Dec 10: The department of PG studies in commerce of Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar, organized an industrial visit to KMF Udupi Dairy, Uppoor on December 9. A total of 43 students from the department participated in the visit, accompanied by Nelson Monis, coordinator of the MCom department, along with three other faculty members.
The visit began with an introduction to the KMF Udupi Dairy's operations. The students were given a comprehensive tour of the facility, which provided insights into the entire production process—from milk collection to the dispatch of final products, including four varieties of milk, curd, buttermilk, and ghee.
Detailed explanations of the processes, including the procurement and collection of milk, storage in silos, quality testing, processing of milk products, packaging, and final dispatch, were provided by Rakshit Shetty, marketing assistant, and Manoj Kumar, admin assistant from the engineering section. This visit proved to be an enriching experience for the students, enabling them to understand the practical aspects of dairy management and the role of innovation in enhancing operational efficiency.
This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practices, equipping students with practical insights into the production and marketing strategies employed by a leading dairy organization.
