Udupi, Dec 10: Autism Society Udupi to hold 'Kala Sourabha – 3', a special school talent contest, district level cultural competition, with the theme of ‘Sambandha’ at Sri Narayana Guru Auditorium, Bannanje on December 14.
Amitha Pai, president Autism Society of Udupi, addressing media in the press conference held on December 10, said, “The society has been organizing an annual event, “Kala Saurabh,” for the past two years, in collaboration with other voluntary organizations, to celebrate the creativity and talents of children with autism. The event aims to showcase the creativity of children with autism and provide a platform to empower parents by encouraging them to embrace their children with confidence and pride, free from social stigma. Over 350 children from 16 special schools and their parents are expected to participate actively in the event this year.”
The inaugural ceremony will commence at 9 AM under the presidency of Amita Pai, president of the Autism Society of Udupi. The event will feature prominent guests, including deputy commissioner of Udupi Dr Vidya Kumari, medical director of Dr A V Baliga Memorial Hospital Udupi Dr P V Bhandari, president of IMA-Udupi Karavali Dr Suresh Shenoy, and other notable figures from the social service sector.
The valedictory ceremony will be held at 3.30 PM with Dr I P Gadad, district health officer, and Manu Handadi, renowned comedian and cultural ambassador for Kundapura Kannada, as special guests.
The event is co-organized by Dr A V Baliga Memorial Hospital Udupi, Kamal A Baliga Charitable Trust Mumbai, One Good Step Bengaluru, district administration, zilla panchayat Udupi, District Disabled Welfare Office, Harsha Udupi, Aabharana Udupi, Badagabettu Credit Cooperative Society Udupi, Canara bank, Girija Healthcare & Surgicals and MRG Group Bengaluru.
Director Dr A V Baliga Memorial Hospital Udupi Dr P V Bhandary, treasurer Autism Society Udupi Anusha Hegde and program coordinator of Autism Society Udupi Keerthesh S, were present during the press conference.
