Chikkamagluru, Dec 10: "Line wahan shuru hotha hai ....jahan hum khade hothe hai...."... Line starts from where we stand..," said Jerardin D'Souza in context of AIT being a new college & their batch being the first batch.
"It is a nostalgic wonderful emotion, to be back to our college after 44 years of its birth and see the mega structure, and reminiscent that we started in a small building, where our hostel & classroom was under one small roof," shared Jerardin D'Souza, the first general secretary of AIT and now the founder director of Mangalore Alzheimer's Association (MAA).
Gunanatha swamiji, of Adichunchanagiri Math, Sringeri, was the chief guest. He was overwhelmed by the achievements of the students of AIT. He recounted the service and leadership of Adichunchanagiri Mutt Swamiji, Padmabhushan Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji, who chose Chikkamagluru to start AIT, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology. Today the students are world over and making a mark in all fields. He spoke with spiritual grace and blessed all students of AIT. All students were blessed to have a group photo with swamiji.
Dr Subraya C K, director of AIT shared the growth of the college from the first batch to now. He was involved in the college development from the very beginning.
Jerardin D'Souza had the audience laughing and celebrating when he recounted how he was one among only five students who passed the computer exam in fifth semester.
Special mention of Mohan, Chicago, USA, was made, who drove down just to be with his first batch buddies.
Dr Satyanarayana organized the alumni meet in a splendid manner.
The 1995 batch celebrated their 25 years of passing out in a joyful manner...
The first batch of 1980 celebrated their 40 years of passing out in a grand manner. All stayed together in at Biranji Resort organized meticulously by Chandrashekar & Balakrishna.
A new building is planned for the alumni who visit Chikkamagluru.
The eminent engineers of 1995 batch were on stage. So also first batch students Narsimha Baliga, accomplished industrialist, and N Venkatesh, former director, Ashok Leyland, shared their expireinces.
The anchor, a lecturer was brilliant in her presentation.
Excellent dance performance by students and cultural activities were on display.
Dr Jayadeva, principal aporeciated all participants and delivered the vote of thanks.
A sumptuous lunch was relished by all gathered.
