CM sanctions compensation of Rs 5 lac each to 4 students drowning in Murudeshwar

Bengaluru, Dec 11: Chief Minister Siddarmaiah has sanctioned a compensation of Rs 5 lac to the families of the 4 students of Morarji Desai Residential School in Mulbagal of Kolar district who got drowned in the sea at Murudeshwar.

The Chief Minister has expressed his grief and conveyed condolence messages to the bereaved families of the four students, who drowned while on a study tour.

Siddaramaiah has said that he has already instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada district to ensure that the mortal remains of the four students were sent to their native places.

At the same time, the Chief Minister has requested all schools to ensure that their teachers, who are sent on study tours along with students, take proper precautions and ensure steps for the safety of the students.
