Mangaluru, Dec 12: A private bus driver displayed remarkable presence of mind and averted a major mishap by controlling a bus with failed brakes, saving the lives of several passengers. The incident occurred on Thursday, December 12 morning at Ballalbagh in city.

A private bus named Vishal Travels was en route from Udupi to Mangaluru when the brakes failed as it approached Ballalbagh at around 8 am. Acting swiftly, the driver, Siddiq Ermal, showcased exceptional alertness.

He immediately steered the bus onto the footpath, ensuring no harm came to the passengers or others on the road. The bus was carrying a significant number of passengers due to the morning rush, but thanks to Siddiq's quick thinking, everyone onboard escaped unhurt.
