Udupi: Goods vehicle carrying coconuts catches fire in Hoode, disaster averted

Udupi, Dec 17: A late-night fire broke out in a goods vehicle transporting coconuts in Hoode on Monday December 16, causing significant damage to the vehicle.

According to locals, the fire is believed to have been caused by a short circuit triggered by contact with an electric wire. Fortunately, the fire brigade responded promptly and managed to extinguish the flames, averting a potential disaster.

The incident occurred near residential areas, a hotel, and a café, where the fire could have spread, posing a grave threat. Thanks to the swift action of the fire department, no further mishap occurred.

The police arrived at the scene to inspect the incident and are investigating the cause of the fire.
