Moodbidri, Dec 18: Carmel School came alive with vibrant energy as it celebrated its Annual Day themed ‘Seeds of Hope’ on December 13 at the school auditorium. The event which began with uniting the entire Carmel family, including students, teachers, parents and well-wishers in a memorable celebration of talent, inspiration and achievements.
The programme commenced with a solemn guard of honour where disciplined students extended a regal welcome to the dignitaries and guests. Their synchronized march set a tone of respect and pride, making for a visually captivating start.
The school had the privilege of hosting Fr Onil D'Souza, parish priest of Corpus Christi Church, Moodbidri, as the chief guest, and Krishna Prasad Adappa director of Accolades Academy Mangalore as the guest of honour. Their inspiring presence uplifted the spirit of the evening.
The celebration opened with a soulful opening chorus by the school choir spreading harmony and joy through their melodious performance. Following this a mesmerizing welcome dance by the talented students enchanted the audience with its grace and beauty.
In her warm and thoughtful address Sr Maria Gracilda AC the principal, welcomed everyone, emphasizing the significance of education, perseverance and values in nurturing responsible future citizens.
The cultural programmes reflected the theme ‘Seeds of Hope’ symbolizing growth, resilience, and a brighter future through education and values.
The tiny tots from Nursery, LKG & UKG charmed the audience with their heart-warming dance spreading joy and innocence. Grade 1 presented a colourful and energetic performance titled ‘Drops of Water’ highlighting the beauty and necessity of water in our lives. Grade 2 showcased a creative portrayal ‘Education and Technology’ emphasizing the role of education and technological advancements in building a promising future.
The school’s talented young musicians delivered a stunning orchestral performance blending rhythm and harmony in a way that resonated deeply with the audience. The evening celebrated the accomplishments of meritorious students recognizing Ashwil Neil Lobo (grade 7) who earned national recognition with the ‘Creative Award - Putta Kalavida’ in the ‘Chinnara Chitra Chittara’ competition, along with grade 10 toppers and students excelling in various fields who were applauded for their dedication and success.
Adding a technological edge, the school proudly launched its new official website, symbolizing progress and embracing the digital future.
The cultural showcase continued with powerful messages through dance, drama and skits. grade 3 presented a spirited act on ‘Women Empowerment’, advocating equality, respect and empowerment for women. Grade 4 performed ‘Hope for a Better Tomorrow’ an inspiring portrayal emphasizing sustainability and environmental conservation. Grades 5A & 5C delivered a moving tribute titled ‘Honoring Farmers and Soldiers’ recognizing the selfless contributions of these national heroes.
The Christmas Tableau by grades 5B & 6 beautifully captured the essence of Christmas with themes of love, joy and giving, leaving the audience with a sense of warmth and festive spirit. A stirring dance drama dedicated to soldiers evoked feelings of patriotism and gratitude honouring their courage and sacrifices for the nation.
The chief guest Prasad Adappa and Fr Onil D’Souza shared motivational messages, encouraging students to strive for excellence while serving society with humility and compassion.
In a heartfelt vote of thanks Sr Ranitha, the coordinator, expressed deep gratitude to the management, staff, parents and students for their unwavering support and dedication to making the event a grand success.
