Bangalore: NCP to Emerge in State During Next Election

Bangalore, Dec 23: Congress legislators Malikayya Guttedar and B C Patil on Thursday December 22 said that Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will get a firm footing in the state during the next assembly election.

They said Congress has been neglecting people who have the potential to build the party back into prominence in the state. Blaming the party leadership of rewarding only the sycophants who sing praises of the leaders, and not the ones who are sincere, they revealed that having been frustrated over the attitude of the party leaders, they have decided to cross over to NCP.

“Legislators who have got elected thrice or four times have been overlooked, and they have not been given any positions of responsibility. We have discussed all the issues threadbare with AICC general secretaries, Madhusudhan Mistry, and Oscar Fernandes. They have promised to bring in changes as desired by us. We will wait for these changes to happen, and take a final decision thereafter,” they added.

These two MLAs also said that they do not want to join NCP at present, as it will impose bypolls on the people. “NCP will take birth in the state during next election. About 30 MLAs from all the three parties, Congress, JDS, and BJP, will be joining NCP then,” they predicted.
