Mangaluru: MCC Bank clarifies on debtor’s suicide, subsequent social media posts

Media Release

Mangaluru, Dec 19: MCC Bank has issued a public clarification addressing misleading social media posts involving the name of the bank’s president.

In its statement, the bank explained, “A man who had taken a loan from MCC Bank failed to repay it on time. Legal action was initiated to recover the outstanding amount. Additionally, the debtor was given an opportunity to settle the loan with a reduction in the interest rate. However, he still did not repay the loan."

"The debtor also maintained a savings account with the bank and carried out personal transactions through it. The bank did not interfere in those transactions. His unfortunate action was due to personal problems. Attempts are being made to unnecessarily tarnish the reputation of the bank by associating the incident with the name of the bank’s president," the bank further added.

“We hereby urge the public and our valued customers not to believe the false statements circulating on social media,” the bank has concluded.
