Udupi, Dec 20: The 'Poorna Aarambha 2024', induction and orientation programme for newly admitted MBA and MCA students was held on December 16, at Poornaprajna Institute of Management (PIM), Udupi.
The event was graced by Nagaraja Hebbar, proprietor and chief travel consultant of Apna Holidays, and a proud alumnus of the Poornaprajna group, as the chief guest. In his inaugural speech, Hebbar fondly reminisced about his time at the Poornaprajna campus, expressed gratitude to his teachers, and paid respects to the founder, Vibhudhesha Theertha Swamiji, for establishing such a prestigious institute in Udupi. He shared insights from his career journey, highlighting the challenges he faced and emphasizing that hard work is the only path to success. He encouraged students to trust themselves and strive diligently to achieve their goals.
CA Prashanth Holla T, honorary treasurer of the governing council, assured students of the management’s commitment to providing all necessary facilities for academic excellence, ensuring the best professional education at the institute.
Dr Chandrashekhar G S, honorary secretary of the governing council, in his presidential address, urged students to persevere despite challenges or initial failures. Sharing his own dedication to his profession, he encouraged students to follow their passion while upholding ethical and moral values, contributing to society as responsible citizens.
Dr P Sreeramana Aithal, director of PIM, introduced the facilities and support systems available on campus and administered an oath to the students.
The inaugural ceremony marks the beginning of a five-day orientation program featuring various sessions aimed at equipping students for academic excellence and overall personality development.
The programme began with a warm welcome by Dr Bharathi Karanth, academic coordinator of the MBA programme, followed by a vote of thanks from Dr Naveen Kumar K R, associate professor in the MBA department. Professor Venugopala Rao A S, academic coordinator of the MCA programme, compered the event. Second-year MBA students Deeksha and Keerthana opened the programme with a soulful invocation song.
