Udupi, Dec 21: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), renowned for its dedication to academic and societal growth, proudly hosted the international conferences on materials, energy, environment & manufacturing sciences (MEEMS-2024), computational intelligence and smart communication (CISC-2024) and student symposium on December 20.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with an invocation by Sowmya, assistant professor (senior grade), department of computer science and engineering. Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal of SMVITM, delivered the prelude to the conferences and extended a warm welcome to the gathering.
Dr Manjunatha S, assistant professor (senior grade), department of mechanical engineering, introduced the chief guest, Dr K C Gouda, senior principal scientist at CSIR-4PI, Bengaluru. In his inaugural address, Dr Gouda emphasized the importance of conferences in addressing global challenges such as sustainability, energy efficiency, and technological innovation. He highlighted that they foster impactful research and drive meaningful solutions.
The release of the conference abstract booklet was ceremoniously conducted by the dignitaries on the dais. Rathnakumar, secretary of SSVMET, Udupi, graced the occasion as the guest of honor. In his speech, he highlighted that by uniting experts, researchers, and students, the institution drives advancements that benefit society and improve lives.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Bharti Panjwani, associate professor, department of computer science and engineering. Sowmya Bhat, assistant professor (senior grade), department of electronics and communication engineering, efficiently hosted the event as the master of ceremony.
