Udupi, Dec 21: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna announced that a compensation of Rs 2.83 crore has been credited to the bank accounts of 24 landowners who submitted documents for the land acquired for the Malpe-Adi Udupi National Highway 169A development project.
A total of 214 land acquisition processes have been carried out for the highway project, including 19 government-owned plots. Out of the remaining 195 private plots, claims from 103 landowners have been accepted, and compensation disbursement is underway. However, 44 landowners have yet to submit the required documentation.
As per the regulations, the acquisition process for all 214 cases is being completed, and the highway construction is progressing steadily. The MLA urged the remaining landowners to promptly submit their documents to receive compensation.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Udupi, Yashpal Suvarna thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister for Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary for their special support in expediting the Malpe-Adi Udupi National Highway project.
