Kundapur: Boat capsizes at Trasi Beach; tourist rescued, rider goes missing

Kundapur, Dec 21: A tourist boat capsized in the sea on Saturday, December 21, in the evening, leading to the disappearance of the boat rider at Trasi Beach in Kundapura taluk.

The incident took place near Anugraha Bar, where a tourist boating facility operated. On Saturday evening, a tourist from Bengaluru, Prashanth, was boating when the boat overturned.

Both the tourist and the rider fell into the water, but Prashanth was rescued as he was wearing a life jacket. The boat rider, however, went missing. The missing rider has been identified as Ravidas, originally from Murudeshwar, who currently resides in Trasi.

A search operation is underway to locate Ravidas, with Gangaladi police, coastal police, and locals actively involved.

A case is yet to be filed with the Gangaladi police station.
