Udupi, Dec 22: The CEN police of Udupi have arrested Dayanand, a Kerala native, who had been absconding for 15 years in connection with a case involving the illegal sale of Goa-made liquor.

He was apprehended at his residence in Chalakudy, Thrissur district, Kerala.

Dayanand was initially arrested in 2009 at Indrali railway station by the district excise and lottery prohibition squad, led by inspector Thimmaiah, for attempting to sell Goa-made liquor.

However, after securing bail, he went into hiding and failed to appear in court, evading authorities for over a decade.
