Mangaluru, Dec 23: Presidency School, Mangaluru illuminated amidst great splendor, mirth and zest as it hosted its annual day celebration on December 21 with the resounding theme, 'Roots to Wings: Celebrate Life'. The event was an exquisite display of vibrancy and resplendence, reverberating with life.

The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of guest Dr Durgaprasad M R, medical superintendent, government Ladygoshen Hospital Mangaluru and Dr Guruprasad Rai D, MBBS, MS (General Surgery) & MCH (Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery) as the guest of honour. The proud parents added to the honor of the occasion.

The programme commenced with a solemn guard of honour where the students extended a regal welcome to the dignitaries and guests. Their synchronized march set a tone of respect and pride, making it a visually captivating start. The symbolic lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Dr Durgaprasad M R, guest of honour Dr Guruprasad Rai D, assistant director Arun Devraj, the principal, Shaila Saldanha, admin manager Prathibha Chetan and co-ordinators Ayesha Ilham,  Anand Prasad, Suman shetty and Lolitha Rodrigues took on an added significance as did the invocation that followed. The principal, Shaila Saldanha extended a warm formal welcome, setting the stage for an evening filled with enchantment.

The programme artfully wove various hues that aligned perfectly with the chosen theme 'Roots to Wings: Celebrate Life' – that symbolizes the nurturing roots of nature and the empowering wings of women, highlighting growth and freedom. Each student and staff member's creative acts were well crafted with heartfelt effort by each child to bring joy to everyone’s hearts.

The evening unfolded with an array of talent, imagination, and impeccable organization. The school’s talented young musicians delivered a stunning orchestral performance blending rhythm and harmony in a way that resonated deeply with the audience. Students showcased their prowess through dance performances with colorful props. A well-directed dance drama captivated the audience, infusing the stage with energy. The final dance medley, with the message on celebrating life, to cherish every moment, embrace positivity, and live life to its fullest, stole the show, leaving the audience in awe with breathtaking finesse.

Suman Shetty, COD, expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks, acknowledging the dedicated efforts of all involved. The exhilarating show concluded, leaving an indelible impression on every attendee. It was indeed a spectacular showcase of talent and fervor, marking a blissful end to the celebration.
