Udupi: Udyavar Harmony Committee celebrates Christmas in 11 Anganwadis

Udupi, Dec 24: Under the leadership of the Udyavar Harmony Committee, Christmas was celebrated uniquely by distributing sweets to children at 11 Anganwadis within the Udyavar gram panchayat jurisdiction.

On this occasion, the parish priest of St Francis Xavier Church, Fr Anil D’Souza, delivered the Christmas message, saying, “Christmas is a festival of peace, harmony, and forgiveness. God sent His only son for the well-being of the world. Jesus Christ won hearts through love. We are all children of one God, and together we should spread the message of love everywhere. Let us become the light for society, just like the stars hanging in our homes. By forgiving one another, let us share the message of God’s love.”

Assistant parish priest Fr Stephen Rodrigues, Halima Sabju Auditorium Trustee Haji Abdul Jaleel Saheb, BJP Kaup constituency president Jitendra Shetty, Udyavar Rural Congress president Nitin Salyan, Udyavar gram panchayat vice president Rajesh Kunder, panchayat members Riyaz Palli, Asha Vasu, Abid Ali, Sri Narayana Guru youth forum honorary president Sadashiva Amin, church administrative committee vice president Wilfred D’Souza, Udyavar Friends Circle honorary president Nagesh Kumar, teachers Geeta and Akshata, Anganwadi workers, members of the Harmony Committee, and Catholic Sabha were present.

The event was inaugurated by the president of the Harmony Committee, Royce Fernandes, while secretary Pratap Kumar compered the programme.
