Puttur: Family attends Christmas Mass; thieves make off with Rs 2.46 lac in gold, cash

Puttur, Dec 26: Thieves broke into the house of Thangacchan, a resident of Addahole in Shiradi, on Tuesday night and stole gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 2.46 lac.

Thangacchan and his family had gone to church to attend the Christmas Mass. Upon returning home, they were shocked to find the latch of their front door broken.

The thieves had stolen gold ornaments weighing 42 grams and Rs 78,000 in cash.

Uppinangady police are conducting further investigations.
