Bengaluru, Dec 27: A television actor was arrested in Bengaluru following allegations of sexual harassment and issuing death threats.

The accused, identified as TV actor Charith Balappa, is known for his roles in Kannada serial Muddu Lakshmi and several Telugu television shows.

Reports state that Charith allegedly harassed a female acquaintance by pressuring her into physical relations. He is also accused of forcibly entering her residence and subjecting her to harassment.

The complaint filed by the woman states that Charith demanded money and threatened to leak private videos and photographs if she did not comply.

Charges against Charith include sexual harassment, assault, and issuing threats. It is reported that he is divorced and has had previous altercations with his ex-wife, who had also filed complaints against him.

R R Nagar police have taken Charith into custody, and further investigations are underway.
