Mangaluru: CFAL produces 1 in every 10 INMO qualifiers in Karnataka

Media Release

Mangaluru, Dec 28: CFAL (Centre for Advanced Learning), Mangaluru’s leading institute for STEM education, has reached another significant milestone in the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) 2024. Three of its students—Rishon Fernandes (57 marks), Lauren Marian Patrao (52 marks), and Abhhi Sannayya (49 marks)—have secured their spots in the prestigious Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO), which will take place on January 19, 2025.

This year, 41 students from Karnataka qualified for the INMO across all categories, with 30 qualifiers specifically from Category A (Classes 8 to 11). CFAL’s students represent 10% of Category A qualifiers and a notable share of the overall statewide selection, reinforcing the institute’s impactful role in shaping top math talent.

Why this matters?

Exclusivity: With just 30 qualifiers statewide in this category, CFAL’s three students emphasize the institute’s ability to nurture excellence in mathematics.
Impact: This result highlights CFAL’s advanced teaching methodologies and its focus on empowering students to excel in highly competitive environments.

CFAL: Setting standards in STEM education

“Our students’ success is a testament to the dedication and precision of our academic approach. To have 10% of Karnataka’s INMO qualifiers from CFAL showcases our commitment to creating future problem-solvers and innovators,” said Vijay Moras, Program coordinator of CFAL.
CFAL has been at the forefront of producing outstanding results in competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and Olympiads for more than 16 years, consistently raising the bar in STEM education.

What lies ahead?

The journey continues as the three qualifiers prepare for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO), a stepping stone toward the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC). Success at these stages could lead to representing India at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), one of the world’s most prestigious math competitions.
