Udupi: 'Bhattha', 'Chappara Muhurtha' Held Ahead of Approaching 'Paryaya'

Udupi, Dec 26:
With the time nearing for the grand 'Paryaya' rituals in the temple town of Udupi, the 'Bhattha (paddy) Muhurta' and 'Chappara Muhurta' of Shree Sode Mutt were held on Monday December 26.

They are part of the preliminary rituals preceding the Paryaya festival to be held on Tuesday January 17 and Wednesday January 18.
 
Shree Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Shree Sode Mutt initiated the ritual of Chappara Muhurta in front of the Gita Mandira near Rajangana Hall, here. An areca pole was installed in front of the Gita Mandira as part of the ritual.
 
Diwan of Shree Sode Mutt Padigaru Shreenivas Thanthri, Udaya Thanthri, Madhwesha Thanthri, Sudarshana Puthraya and disciples of the Mutt were present in good numbers.
