Kasargod: Two children killed, five injured in KSRTC bus-car collision

Kasargod, Dec 29: A horrific collision between a KSRTC bus and a car on the national highway at Padannakkad claimed the lives of two children and left five others critically injured on Sunday, December 29 afternoon. The impact of the crash left the car completely mangled, with emergency responders rushing to the scene.

The deceased have been identified as 5-year-old Zyeen Rehman from Neeleswar and 12-year-old Lahab Jainaba.

Among the injured are Zuhara (40) and Sherin (15), who are in critical condition.

 

The car driver, Faiz, along with bus passengers Suryan and Anil, also sustained injuries. The accident occurred when a KSRTC bus heading towards Kannur collided with another bus coming from the opposite direction.

Fire and rescue personnel, along with police, arrived promptly at the scene and extricated the victims trapped in the wrecked car. Unfortunately, both children were declared dead at the scene.

The injured were rushed to the district hospital in Kanjangad, where their condition remains critical.
