Previously, victims of cyber-related crimes from any part of Dakshina Kannada district had to travel to Mangaluru to file complaints, causing inconvenience to citizens from Bantwal, Sullia, Puttur, Beltangady, and Kadaba.
Renovation work for the cyber station (CEN) building near the B C Road town police station in Bantwal taluk is being carried out through Nirmiti Kendra, Mangaluru
Currently, the CEN police station operates from a rented building in Mangaluru. In B C Road, it will function from its own building. The renovation and extension work, costing Rs 35 lac, include installing a new roof to preserve the building's original design. Eight pillars will be erected at the front to create a conducive environment for complainants. The proposal for the new CEN building, submitted two years ago, has now received approval and funding.
