Moodbidri: Corpus Christi Church rings in 2025 with solemn Thanksgiving, jubilee celebrations

Moodbidri, Jan 2: Corpus Christi Church celebrated the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, and the New Year’s Eve Thanksgiving Holy Mass with great devotion and joy on December 31, 2024.

The evening began with an hour of adoration to the Blessed Sacrament, led by Fr Dony Cardoza. This was followed by the Thanksgiving Holy Eucharistic Mass concelebrated by Fr Dony Cardoza, Fr Rakesh Mathais, and Fr Onil D’Souza.

After the Holy Mass, the congregation gathered at the church portico for a short program. During the event, winners of the ‘Little Lens’ photography competition were awarded prizes.

The church also honoured three parishioners for their significant achievements:

• Shailesh Crasta was felicitated for completing his LLB degree (bachelor of law).
• Divina Maria Sequeira and Joswin Rakshitha Fernandes were recognized for becoming chartered accountants (CA).

The New Year 2025 was welcomed with a dazzling fireworks display. Additionally, the year of jubilee 2025 was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the Holy Cross, accompanied by the Corpus Christi Church choir singing the jubilee hymn.

The celebrations concluded with a gesture of fellowship as cake and juice were served to all present. The evening was marked by faith, gratitude, and a sense of community as parishioners gathered to welcome the new year with blessings and joy.
