Mangaluru, Jan 2: As part of the Karavali Utsava 2024 celebrations, a two-day film festival was inaugurated by renowned music director Gurukiran at Bharath Cinemas on Thursday January 2.
For the first time in Karavali Utsava’s history, a dedicated film festival is being held. One screen at Big Cinemas has been exclusively reserved for the event, showcasing nine films and one short film in Kannada, Konkani, and Tulu languages over two days.
Deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan stated, "We are planning to elevate this film festival into an international event starting next year during Karavali Utsava. This year marks the festival's debut at Karavali Utsava, and from next year, we aim to screen more films and attract a larger audience to enjoy them."
Mayor Manoj Kumar was also present at the inaugural event.
Entry to the film festival is free for all.
