Kundapur: BJP protests against offering namaz in Gangolli GP office

Kundapur, Jan 3: “We oppose the Congress party’s intention of initiating illegal activities in government buildings. On one hand, Congress claims that the SDPI should be banned as it is anti-social and supports traitors. Congress knows that its alliance with SDPI is detrimental to its survival, but for the sake of power, it forms an immoral relationship with the very organisation it seeks to ban. Congress has shown that power is its only priority,” said Byndoor MLA Gururaja Gantihole.

Gantihole was speaking during a protest held on Friday, demanding action against those who performed namaz led by Maulvis during the assumption of power by the panchayat vice-president at the Gangolli grama panchayat office.

Gantihole further remarked, “Congress has appeased Muslims since Independence, consistently meting out injustice to Hindus. To seize power, the Congress party allied with the SDPI just before the elections. Today, Congress stands in a pathetic position, having sold its independence. The people of Gangolli will not tolerate such activities, and society is increasingly aware of their intentions.

“Over the past year and a half, numerous cases of cow theft have been reported in the Byndoor constituency. There are also complaints regarding the illegal construction of mosques, with SDPI’s involvement being no secret. Congress has aligned with such a party to win the Gangolli panchayat elections. Now, activities undermining societal harmony have begun. Immediately after assuming power, they unofficially offered namaz inside a government building. We will not tolerate this kind of appeasement for political gain. Strict action should be taken against those involved in these illegal activities inside the government office.”

An appeal was submitted to Kundapur tahsildar Mallikarjun and taluk panchayat CEO Dr Ravi Kumar Hukkeri. Gangolli grama panchayat PDO Umashankara, revenue inspector Raghavendra Devadiga, Byndoor CI Savitra Teja, and Gangolli police station SI Harish R were present at the event.

BJP Byndoor Mandala president Deepak Kumar Shetty, Trasi Mahashakti Kendra president Ravindra Kharvi, former taluk panchayat member Surendra Kharvi, Umanatha Devadiga, Vasudeva Devadiga, Sridhar Naik, Gangolli grama panchayat members, Trasi grama panchayat president Mithun M D Bijoor, former Gujjadi grama panchayat president Harish Mesta, Chandra Panchavati, Raghavendra Ganiga, Prema Poojary, Shanti Kharvi, Raghunatha Kharvi, Naveena Gangolli, along with activists from pro-Hindu organisations and BJP workers, participated in the protest.
