Bangalore: Yeddyurappaji Our Undisputed Leader, Won't Harm DVS, says Renuka

Bangalore, Dec 28: ''Yeddyurappaji is our undisputed leader. He will not split BJP or destabilise the D V Sadananda regime,” declared Excise Minister M P Renukacharya.

The minister, who had played a key role as dissident leader in the former Tourism minister Janardhana Reddy-led dissident campaign when B S Yeddyurappa was the state’s chief minister and later became a staunch loyalist, claimed that Yeddyurappa had built the BJP and was instrumental in its growth to the present status.

''Yeddyurappaji is our leader and he will not take any wrong political steps,” he said affirming that, '' We are all together. We will remain loyal to him always.”

Replying to questions from reporters about a meeting of a group of legislators loyal to the former chief minister at his residence in Dollars Colony in the City, the Minister said Yeddyurappa would remain in the BJP and build the party in the coming days.

“Yeddyuappaji will not take any wrong political steps. We are all together. Today, we have discussed the current political developments in the party and in the State,” he said.

Asked about collective leadership in the party, he said: “Yeddyurappa is the undisputed leader in the State unit of the party.”

On continuation of Sadananda Gowda as the head of the Government, Renukacharya said the party high command would decide the future of the chief minister.

To a question on the visit of State BJP Chief K S Eshwarappa and the Chief Minister to New Delhi and their meetings with the national BJP leadership, including former deputy prime minister L K Advani, and their complaints against Yeddyurappa, the minister said nobody can object to the visit of the Chief Minister or the State BJP president to Delhi.

''It is their prerogative to decide when to visit Delhi or whom to meet. But we are pretty sure that nobody has taken any complaints against the former Chief Minister. Yeddyurppaji is guiding the Government and the party,” Renukacharya said.

The BJP came to power in the State under the leadership of Yeddyurappa. It is wrong on the part of some leaders to blame him when he was not in power, the Minister said.

Yeddy might have brought BJP to power in Karnataka, but he also applied "TAR" on BJP through his actions. Yeddi, now take SANYAS from politics, it is time to start doing good to others, go and join as a volunteer in a charity. All the best to you.
