Kundapur, Jan 4: Former MLA K Gopala Poojari has called out the Byndoor MLA for opposing Hindu traditions, demanding action against him for his 'anti-Hindu' stance. Speaking at a protest organised by the Gangolli Rural Congress on Saturday, January 4, Poojari condemned the MLA’s hypocrisy, claiming his so-called Hinduism was nothing more than a political facade.
"The MLA, who won under the banner of Hinduism, now criticises Hindu practices. He has lost all moral authority to seek votes in its name," Poojari said, referring to the MLA’s objection to a prayer performed by the Gangolli Grama Panchayat president at her office — a practice rooted in Hindu tradition.
Poojari challenged the MLA for failing to address local issues despite two years in office. "If the MLA has done anything for Gangolli's development, let him show it. Otherwise, his theatrics in the name of Hinduism will be exposed," he added.
The protest focused on addressing the genuine issues of the people, with Poojari vowing to push for government action to resolve local problems. "We’ll ensure the authorities take action. If the MLA continues with empty politics, the people will respond," he warned.
The protest saw the participation of local leaders, including Kundapura TMC officer Dr Ravi Kumar Hukkari, Police sub-inspector Harish R, and several Congress members.
