Udupi, Jan 5: Acting on credible information about illegal prostitution activities, the Manipal police conducted a raid on an apartment in the Perampalli area of Shivalli village, rescuing a woman and arresting two individuals for operating the illegal prostitution centre.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police Prabhu D. Manipal Police Inspector Devaraj T V, along with PSI Anil, ASI Vivek, and team members Vidya, Imran, Prasan, and Manjunath, led the raid.
During the operation, two individuals were arrested: Raghunandan (40) from Koppa, Chikkamagaluru district, and Amina Begum (55) from Harihar, Davangere district. A woman from Bengaluru, who was being exploited for prostitution, was rescued from the premises.
A case has been registered at the Manipal Police Station, and both the arrested individuals have been remanded to judicial custody.
The investigation team, led by inspector Devaraj T V, is actively pursuing the arrest of Ravish, the prime accused, who hails from Hirisaave village in Hassan district.
The Superintendent of Police, Udupi district, lauded the Manipal Police team for their swift and efficient operation in uncovering the illegal activities and rescuing the woman.
