Kundapur: CCTV monitoring thwarts illegal cattle smuggling near Bijadi

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (TP)

Udupi, Jan 6: Illegal cattle smuggling was foiled near Bijadi Junction in Kundapur, thanks to real-time CCTV monitoring.

Around 3 am on January 5, CCTV cameras managed by Sign-In Security at Ankadakatte, Kundapur, recorded suspicious activity. The footage showed individuals tying cattle along the roadside and attempting to load them into a vehicle. Alerted by the live feed, security personnel promptly informed the police.

Although police officers were stationed on a different route for beat duty, they monitored updates en route to the scene. On arriving, the smugglers fled in their vehicle, leaving the cattle behind.

Authorities are now investigating the incident to identify the suspects, determine the number of cattle involved, trace their origin, and uncover the intended destination of the smuggling attempt.

We lost our beloved cow on 2nd January 2025 night around 12.30pm which is tied infront of our house, we came to this incident on 3rd January 2025 at 5.30am morning. This incident is caputed from the cctv implement by the Govt for the sand mining and we do not have the access to see the video. We have filled complaint with poice on 3rd January 2025. Till today there was no update regarding this matter. I request Police and Govt to take strict action against this matter. If this continues it is very difficult for the Public to lead thier life becuase cattle is the source of income through milk and we believe cow as our God, why human is very rude against animals, we take care os the animals and they kidnap the animal for the meat, what rights they have to stole others pets.
