Billava Sangha Kuwait holds 13th Annual General Body Meeting

Kuwait, Jan 7: The 13th Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Billava Sangha Kuwait was held on December 27, 2024 at the Indian School of Excellence, Salmiya, Kuwait. The event commenced with a heartfelt prayer by Ekaparna Suresh.

The master of ceremony, Arrushi Manoj Kumar and Kushi Sandeep Kumar, welcomed the president and all BSK members with enthusiasm. The traditional lighting of the lamp was performed by the president, Amarnath Suvarna, along with members of the committee, symbolizing the beginning of a prosperous year ahead. As a mark of respect, a one-minute silence was observed during the AGM to honor the memory of the former Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh and army hawaladar, Anoop Poojary, who lost his life along with others in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir. This solemn moment reflected the organization’s commitment to paying homage to those who have contributed to the nation and the community.

In his welcome speech, president Amarnath Suvarna expressed gratitude to all committee members for their unity and dedication towards the community's upliftment. general secretary, Prashanth Poojary presented the annual report, summarizing the organization's activities for the year 2024. Treasurer, Venu Gopal detailed the financial report for 2024, which was unanimously approved by the members. Welfare officer, Charanraj Suvarna, elaborated on the scholarship programme and other welfare activities conducted during 2024, highlighting the association’s commitment to community development.

Certificates were awarded to the lifetime members of the association. A talent competition showcasing the skills of children and adults was held, which was capably judged by Purander Manchi and Lakshmeesha Amin. Prizes were distributed to the winners, and participation certificates were given to all participants. The winners of the talent show were:

The AGM showcased a vibrant lineup of cultural performances as well that celebrated the rich traditions and talents within the community. Kunita Bhajana the traditional performance filled with energy and grace. Coordinated by Jyothi Sudhir Suvarna and choreographed by Anil Poojary was beautifully executed by Lohith Poojary, Anil Poojary, Praveen Shama Poojary, Sukesh Poojary, Anish Kotian, Lohith Suvarna, Jagadish Suvarna, Jyothi Sudhir Suvarna, Soumya Avin Suvarna, Sinchana Ajay Raj Suvarna, Mamtha Sandeep, Soumya Sukesh, Shwetha Praveen, Swathi Poojary, Anusha Yashpal and Nithesh Poojary.

Stunning dance presentations by Navya Sudhir Suvarna and Dwiti Karkera captivated everyone. Melodious songs were performed by Govind Belchada and Manoj Poojary, adding a soulful touch to the evening. Comedy Skit titled ‘Votudonji Kusal’ brought laughter and joy to the audience. It was directed by Mahesh Poojary Polali and Mithun Vishwanath, with music given by Sushith Kukyan. It was enacted beautifully by Amarnath Suvarna, Rajesh Kukyan, Mithun Vishwanath and Sujith Kotian.

Advisory committee members for 2025 include Raghu C Poojary, Krishna S Poojary, and Sushma Manoj. Chitrek Bangera will serve as the honorary advisor.

President Amarnath Suvarna requested the cooperation of all committee members in fulfilling their collective responsibilities. He also honored the outgoing member, Charan Suvarna with flowers as a token of gratitude.

The technical setup for the event was managed by Raghav Poojary and Dhanaraj Poojary. The cultural programme was very well managed by cultural secretary Rajesh Kukyan and his team. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the general secretary, Prashanth Poojary, followed by a delicious dinner provided by ‘Mughal Tandoori,’ Abbasiya.

The BSK management committee extended its heartfelt thanks to all sponsors and members for their invaluable contributions to the success of the events in 2024 and is looking forward to a prosperous year ahead.
