Mangaluru: Authorities seize 9 boats in raid on illegal sand mining

Mangaluru, Jan 8: Officials conducted a raid at a site near Ambalamogaru where illegal sand mining was reportedly taking place and seized nine boats valued at approximately Rs 13.5 lac.

Along with the boats, two machines, three gas cylinders, and 13 plastic buckets were confiscated.

The joint operation was carried out under the guidance of Mangaluru sub-divisional officer Harshavardhan.

The team included geologist Girish Mohan and other staff from the mines and revenue departments.
