Dubai, Jan 9: Yakshagana Abhyasa Kendra UAE’s 10th anniversary decennial celebrations ‘Dubai Yakshotsava 2025’ will take place on June 29, at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Dubai.
The preparations for the ‘Dubai Yakshotsava – 2025’ began with Muhurat Puja along with Gejje Seve ceremony, which was held at the Fortune Plaza Banquet Hall, Al Qusais Dubai on January 5.
The programme was celebrated with ritualistic and cultural programmes led by Lakshmikant Bhat, the team of archakas consisting of Santosh Bhat, Venkatesh Shastri Puttige, and Bhavanishankar Sharma, who conducted the rituals and prayer programmes with great devotion.
The auspicious event commenced with the Sankalpa and lighting of the lamp, followed by Bhajan programme by members of the Yakshagana Abhyasa Kendra UAE.
The programme continued with Ganapati Stuti and the Muhurtha Puja, and then transitioned to a cultural performance segment, where all students and artistes, performed their Gejje Seva and entered the stage, marking the beginning of the new programme.
The event was attended and supported whole heartily by distinguee guest such as Sarvotham Shetty, president of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha; Sudhakar Rao Pejavara, president of Brahmana Samaja UAE; Satish Poojari, president of Sharjah Karnataka Sangha; entrepreneurs Harish Bangera, Ramanand Shetty; Manohar Hegde from Dubai Karnataka Sangha; Balakrishna Salian from Mogaveera Samaja; organizers Padmanabh Kateel, Prabhakar Suvarna Karnire, Vasu Shetty, Vishwanath Shetty, Harish Kodi; Bhavani Shankar Sharma, Venkatesh Shastri Puttige; Yaksha Guru Shekhar D Shettigar, and Natya Guru Sharath Kudla, as well as the presidents of Tulu Kannada associations in UAE, who all extended their best wishes for the upcoming 10th-anniversary decennial celebrations in June.
The programme began with an introductory speech by Dinesh Shetty Kottinja, the kendra's patron, who recalled the center's 10 years of progress. He mentioned that the 10th-anniversary celebration would take place on June 29 at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium from 10 am to 6 pm. At 10 am, renowned Bhagavathas, including Patla Satish Shetty, Devi Prasad Alva Talapadi, and Kavya Shree Ajeru, will present ‘Gaana Vaibhava’. After Annasantharpane at 1:15 pm, under the direction of Yaksha guru Shri Shekhar D Shettigar from Kinnigoli, the kendra's local artistes, along with famous artists like Kasaragod Subraya Holla and Arun Kotyan from India, will present ‘Shivani Simhavahini’, a Yakshagana performance composed by Yaksha brahma Agari Srinivas Bhagavatha and ‘Chando Brahma’ N Narayana Shetty.
