Bangalore, Dec 30: The ongoing war of words in Karnataka’s ruling BJP is getting nastier by the day.

With former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa training his guns against state BJP chief K S Eshwarappa in his bid to occupy the coveted chief ministerial berth presently being occupied by D V Sadananda Gowda, the staunch loyalists of Yeddyurappa have targeted Eshwarappa and have gone to the extent of virtually asking him to shut up.

Excise Minister M P Renukacharya and Sagar BJP MLA Belur Gopalakrishna on Friday hit out at detractors of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and threatened that they will not remain silent if Eshwrappa and other party leaders continued to criticise their beloved leader and attacked him by making nasty remarks against Yeddyurappa.

The two Yeddyurappa loyalists said the party high command should convince the former Chief Minister about his future role in the State politics. Comments by a section of state BJP leaders would widen the rift within the state unit and Yeddyurappa or his supporters should not be blamed if things went out of hand, they said.

Renukacharya and Gopalakrishna contended that their beloved leader had undergone a lot of pain and humiliation after resigning as the Chief Minister. Yeddyurappa is deeply hurt by some remarks made by Eshwarappa and the situation arising out of the failure of the party high command’s indecision about his role in the State politics.

They appealed the central leaders of BJP to acknowledge Yeddyurappa’s contributions to the party and hold ''honourable’’ talks with him in a genuine bid to solve the leadership issue, Gopalakrishna said.

Both the BJP leaders said ever since Eswarappa assumed office as state BJP president, he has been making statements branding Yeddyurppa as guilty.

Renukacharya said: ''Yeddyurappa built a good house (party) and no one should make efforts to divide it.”

The State BJP leaders have been making sarcastic remarks against Yeddyurappa, who is facing charges of corruption.

''It is not good on the part some of the leaders to make silly remarks against the former chief minister on a daily basis. The central leaders of the party have to clarify the role and responsibilities of each leader in the State, Gopalakrishna said.

On Thursday, Yeddyurappa charged Eswarappa with trying to oust him from the party and being responsible for sending him to jail.

''The State BJP leaders and the National Leaders of BJP should know what would happen if Yeddyurappa takes any political decision to safeguard his position and honour. Let everybody realise that there is and cannot be any BJP in the State without Yeddyurappa,” said Renukacharya.

BJP should annouce retirement scheme for both yeddy and Ishwarappa.. so tha BJP will survive in the state . Also which will help DVS to mask the mistakes done by ex cm by giving a good government. Indirectly both yeddy and Ishwarappa disturbing the peaceful ruling in karnataka. Also if this continues, there is no doubt one day Renukacharya will hire another Bus and go to some resort to use the blackmail tactics.
