Kumbhakonam (TN), Jan 9: Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Central regime of discriminating and causing injustice to non-BJP ruled States in financial grants.

Speaking to media persons after a dharshan of the Sri Maha Pryathyangira Devi Temple in Tamil Nadu’s Kumbhakonam, he said the non-BJP ruled States were forced to fight against the injustice on the plea “our taxes, our rights.”

Shivakumar alleged that the Centre was needlessly politicising the release of grants to the States and underscored the need for all the non-BJP ruled to wage a united battle against the injustice.

The Deputy Chief Minister arrived at Kumbhakonam on Thursday by helicopter. He was received by the local Mayor Sharavanan, Tanjavur District Congress President Loknathan and Congress leaders Krishnaswamy and others.
