Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 10: A harrowing incident has unfolded in the Lisadi Gate Police Station area of Meerut, where a couple and their three minor daughters were discovered dead in their residence. The couple's bodies were found on the floor, while the bodies of the three children – all young girls – were concealed within a bed box, indicating a deliberate attempt to cover up the crime.
Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada shared the details with reporters at the crime scene, revealing that the police were alerted late on Thursday night after a call regarding a locked house.
"Upon reaching the location, the house was found locked from the outside," said SSP Vipin Tada. "After accessing the house through the roof, the police team discovered the bodies of Moin, his wife Asma, and their three daughters – Afsa (8), Aziza (4), and Adiba (1)."
"The unusual locking of the house from the outside suggests that the perpetrator may have been someone familiar to the family," he added.
A preliminary investigation points towards an old enmity as a potential motive for the murders. A thorough investigation is currently underway, according to the SSP.
Further details reveal that one of the deceased's legs were tied with a bedsheet, and the children were found stuffed inside the bed box. Forensic experts and senior officers are collecting evidence from the crime scene.
The local community is in shock as the family had recently moved into the neighborhood. SSP Vipin Tada mentioned that the police are delving into the background of the deceased couple to understand the motives behind the tragic incident.
Moin, a mechanic by profession, and his wife Asma had not been in touch with their family since Wednesday, prompting Moin's brother Salim and his wife to visit after repeated attempts to contact them failed. They eventually called the police, and upon entering the house, discovered the bodies.
