Udupi, Jan 1: SEVA (Service - Entertainment - Vision - Action), a premier forum that strives to bring together Brahmavarites through its various social and cultural initiatives is all ready to present the locals with perfect New Year gift through its star-studded musical extravaganza Darbar-2012 to be held at the Makkala Mantapa, Brahmavar near here on January 1 evening.

With the aim of providing wholesome quality entertainment, SEVA has roped some of the well-known artistes who have over the years rode into the hearts of their audience through their superlative performances around the globe. Legendary Konkani musician, Sangeet Samraat Henry D’Souza along with melody queen Nephie Rod Pradhan will be the main attraction of the star-studded evening.

They will be supported by much-loved voice of Dubai Rony Byndoor and Konkani’s young sensations Anthony Tauro and Rubina Furtado from Mumbai. Darling dancers of the Brahmavarites Ocean Kids are yet again set to descend at the Makkala Mantapa to mesmerize their most appreciative fans with their scintillating dances while Brahmavar’s very own Raviprakash Gonsalves along with his equally-talented team members has already assumed charge to challenge the laughter sense of Brahmavarites. Ever-smiling and never-failing Roshan Vamajoor is sure to increase his fan club with his stupendous oratory skills and wit as the host of the evening.


Henry D’Souza

Sangeet Samraat Henry D’Souza has won the hearts of Konkani buffs with his immortal numbers such as ‘Ye Ye Cathrina’, ‘Ami Dogi Sezara’ etc. Music is his passion and singing is his way of life.  He is a singer-composer, lyricist, music director and a producer, all blent together.  Henry displays a style of singing, which is original, exceptional & sensational. Over the years he has captured the hearts of the music lovers with exceptional performances.


Nephie Rod Pradhan

Nephie Pradhan nee Rodrigues is perhaps one of the most-loved and finest voices from Goa after the great Lorna. Nephie, the owner of the mellifluous voice has performed along with number of Bollywood singers and music directors. Nephie, who has been going around world performing in the troupe of Bollywood singer Sudesh Bhonsle is a multi-lingual singer having lent his voice in Konkani, Hindi, Marathi etc. She was adjourned the best female singer in the recently-held 3rd Global Konkani Music Awards.

It will be the first time that both Henry and Nephie will be performing in the vicinity of Brahmavar which means that SEVA has left no stone unturned to make Darbar-2012, a memorable event.


Rony Byndoor

Rony Byndoor is one of the favourite voices of the Gulf. Rony who is based in Dubai at present has lent his voice to many Konkani albums and performed during various Konkani programmes in both in the UAE as well as back in the native.

Anthony Tauro is a young and up and coming singer cum composer of Chikmagalur origin who has created ripples among the Konkani speaking people of Mumbai in the last few years with his superhit songs ‘Moga Yo’, ‘Rail Gadi’,, ‘Bhumi Mullea Gharak’ etc. Harriet Braganza is one of the most popular singers across the coastal belt in the last few years. She has performed albums Rubina Furtado is a new shining star across the Konkani horizon and she has already won the music lovers’ hearts with her mellifluous voice in number of Konkani devotional albums.

The special attraction of Darbar-2012 will be body building show by local body builder of great repute Raghavendra.

With these star-studded performers Darbar-2012 promises to be one of the finest shows ever held in the vicinity and it would be another feather in the already glittering cap of SEVA.
